In this session Mike Brown will lead a discussion on identity management and ATB’s efforts in 'self-sovereign' identity models. They are currently exploring the project with a ledger technology called Sovrin. Location: Rosza Centre (Evans Room) ------------------------------------ IOT and Blockchain In this session Steve Liang from the University of Calgary will discuss research with the American Department of Homeland Security on the next generation first responder (NGFR) support system project and the how cities deal with the authenticity of sensor data and smart contracts. Location: EDC 179 ------------------------------------ Oil and Gas and Blockchain In this session James Graham from Guild1 and Suzanne West from Imaginea will discuss two projects. The first relates to using DLT techniques for royalty and rights management in the oil and gas sector. The second will be potential for an ICO to support ‘clean hydrocarbons’. ReWatt Power is involved in upgrading decentralized energy systems and exploring new revenue streams by streamlining and simplifying the verification and trading of green attributes like Carbon Offsets, Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), and Energy Efficiency Credits.
