Canada's Premier Cybersecurity Industry Summit is Back

The Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) is excited to announce the highly anticipated Privacy, Security, and Trust (PST) Industry Day Summit. This year's event will take place in the City of Fredericton and promises to be a significant gathering of cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, and researchers from across Canada. The annual international Privacy, Security, and Trust (PST) conference and its industry summit are well-known forums for presenting and discussing the latest challenges and solutions in Cyber security and resiliency.

The 21st edition of the conference was held on August 28-30 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, and its Cybersecurity Industry Summit is scheduled for October 17th and 18th, 2024, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Since its inception in 2004 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the PST conference has become Canada's foremost forum for discussing advances in cybersecurity research and strategy. The event attracts diverse attendees, including industry experts and academic researchers, coming together to share their expertise and explore the future of digital security.

The Industry Summit will be opened by the Honourable Minister Anita Anand, Treasury Board President and Minister of Transport; the Honourable Frank McKenna, Deputy Chair of Wholesale Banking at TD Bank Group; and Dr. Paul Mazerolle, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of New Brunswick. The Summit will include two panels and keynote talks from prominent Cybersecurity and AI experts and leaders in Canada. The first panel will focus on the impact of Generative AI in Cybersecurity and will feature the CIO/CISO of major carriers and financial institutions. The second panel will showcase top women in Canadian Cybersecurity, who will discuss ways to empower women in cybersecurity and build an inclusive and diverse cybersecurity workforce.

The Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) is a leader in cybersecurity innovation, skills development, and research. With over 100 researchers and students, CIC is at the forefront of developing innovative cybersecurity solutions supporting Canada's economic growth and digital sustainability. Dr. Ali Ghorbani, Director of the CIC, stated, "Our goal is to contribute to the safety of Canada's cyber and critical infrastructures and citizens while maintaining Canada's global competitiveness and leadership in cybersecurity."

The PST conference is unique in its broad approach, including industry and academic discussions with a balanced program covering various cybersecurity topics. Its Industry Summit gathers cybersecurity leaders, researchers, and practitioners.
